USING MACINTOSH COMPUTERS

There are no major problems with Mac OS 9 (9.2 is much more stable than earlier ones). Regarding Mac OS X, use 10.1.2 and higher; linking cursive does not work on versions earlier than 10.1.2. You have a choice of three different Mac installers: OS auth 9_X (OS 9 or X, requires you to enter a password), OS 9_X(OS 9 or X), and OS7_8_9 (no OS X installed). The CD contains more information about which installer to use. We have tested the current CD with OS 10.5.1 and Word 2004, and iWork '08.

Look in Mac Troubleshooting for information on some word processor glitches.

USING WINDOWS SYSTEMS

The installer and the fonts run on every version of Windows, even Windows 3.1, up through Vista and Word 2007.

However, if you are running any Windows operating system other than 3.1, Windows insists that you must be logged on with Administrative privileges to run the installer. You have a choice of two sets of Windows installers: Vista_XP (you need workarounds to get our old installers to run on these operating systems) and ME_old.er (which you must use these if you are running Windows 3.1). The CD contains more information.

If any fonts do not show up in your word processor after you run the installer, restart your computer.
