This page allows you to download EFI's font families that are released under the SIL Open Font License (see http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=OFL). There is no cost or fee to use them, provided you use them outside the U.S. There are no installers - use the built-in method for installing fonts into your operating system.

Geez Handwriting fonts. The fonts below are "No Flag" fonts for beginning handwriting. (A second series adding the flags is possible if someone can convince me that they will use it.) In order to use these fonts properly, you should read and download the instructions and programs for SIL Abyssinica here: http://www.sil.org/computing/catalog/show_software.asp?id=117 Our Geez fonts are compatible with the SIL Abyssinica font -- that is, if you type in SIL Abyssinica, you can just change the font to one of our handwriting fonts and now you can make up worksheets. (Please be aware that we at EFI do NOT have the technical competance to teach you how to use the KeyMan keyboard necesary to use our fonts, but SIL's description allowed us to figure it out.)

Click here for your Macintosh Geez Handwriting fonts. You will need StuffIt Expander (free from StuffIt) or some other uncompress program.

Click here for your Windows Geez Handwriting fonts. You will need WinZip or some other uncompress program to unstuff it.

Note: If you have Norton or some other virus protection, and it complains about horrible possible threats, it is because the .zip and .exe files haven't been downloaded a lot. Go into quarantine or wherever the virus protector placed it and restore it. It works fine on XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Africanized Manuscript Handwriting fonts. The fonts below contain accents for Aweer, Daasanach, ORMA, Ilwana, and Markweta languages. Instructions for use are included with the download. These fonts are for teachers outside the U.S. only.
